One Little Word

I originally heard about One Little Word from my friend Sarah, who read it on Ali Edwards blog.  Each year Ali picks out one word to focus on for the year.  As she explains in her blog;
"In 2006, I began a tradition of choosing one word for myself each January—a word that I can focus on, meditate on, and reflect upon as I go about my daily life. My words have included play, peace, vitality, nurture, story, light and up. These words have each become a part of my life in one way or another. They've been embedded into who I am, and into who I'm becoming. They've been what I've needed (and didn't know I needed). They've helped me to breathe deeper, to see clearer and to grow. "
I love the idea of this and I have decided to pick One Little Word to be at the forefront of my mind for 2013.  At first I didn't know where to begin when thinking of my word, I wrote a few down and thought about which ones I could expand on and which really spoke to me.

After about 10 minutes of brainstorming I found my word...

I want to give more this year, and not in a material form, I want to give more smiles, give more time to the people close to me, give more hugs, give to strangers, give to those less fortunate, give ideas, give thanks for what I have, give more to myself and give 100% to everything I do.

Each month I plan to reflect upon and review my one little word.  I look forward to seeing how my word will change the way I think and the things I do in this coming year.

I have started a board on Pinterest for my word and here are some of my fave pics so far;

One word can be very powerful & I can't wait to see how my word will impact my life this year. Have you thought about choosing one little word for 2013?

Stay beautiful!
