IQS - homemade muesli

When I first quit sugar I found myself quite hungry all the time, and I resorted to this muesli as my go-to snack to help fill me up until the next meal time.  I eat my muesli with full fat greek yoghurt and it is delicious!  This recipe is my most made sugar free "dish" so far!

Mix your muesli with greek yoghurt & pop it in a tea cup for maximum enjoyment!

The recipe has been adapted from the muesli recipe in David Gillespie's book The Sweet Poison Quit Plan.

I tend to just throw in the ingredients until I get the combination that's just right for me!

Ingredients

  • rolled oats
  • desiccated coconut (or coconut flakes if you prefer)
  • peanuts (unsalted)
  • macadamia nuts
  • almonds (I buy the slivers so I don't have to chop them up)
  • walnuts/pecan nuts
  • any other nuts that you feel like adding!

Method
  1. In an air tight container fill up 2/3 - 3/4 of the way with the oats
  2. Throw in some coconut & mix around to get the combination of your liking
  3. Chop up the nuts and throw them in
  4. Put the lid on the container & give it a good shake to mix it all up
  5. Spoon some yoghurt into a bowl, add muesli and enjoy!
Making the delicious muesli!

You could also add some fresh berries for a nice summer morning breakfast.

Do you have any variations on the sugar free muesli recipe?  Or another sugar free breakfast idea? Let me know!

Enjoy your day!
