The Treasure Yourself Project


Quite a while ago I heard about a project called The Treasure Yourself Project (TYP), created by Lori on her blog eight.ten.ten.

She writes;
"...it got me thinking, what if I actually put in some effort to my diet & exercise goals AS WELL AS effort into my mental health? What if I incorporated all those activities & ideas that we have all done in the past when our lives run off on us sometimes, into a structured plan AND with a support group of young, ambitious, fun woman all proactive about their health who want to help themselves and help you.  


So, I created an 8 week project. On me. On You. To get ourselves happy, healthy and the very best person we can be. And it's all simple stuff! "

Each week for 8 weeks the project focuses on different areas in life, as well as continuing to work towards the goals for the project.

Why am I doing this?
I was sitting on the couch a couple of days ago, it was 2pm and I was still in my pj's.  I was watching boring tv, feeling pretty crappy when I thought "I need to do something about this!"
I have also reached a point where I have plateaued with my weight loss after giving birth and want to help move things along, summer is just around the corner!
It has been very important for me to not put pressure on myself to get back into shape too quickly.  The body goes through so much in having a baby so I have allowed my body to have a rest after my pregnancy, labour & birth.  Paige is now 8 weeks old & we are starting to get into a bit of a routine, I am starting to get a bit more sleep and I feel like I finally have the energy, and am ready to start working out again.  

I remembered reading about the TYP on my of my fave blogs Make Bliss Happen and it prompted me to look into it more.  I got up off the couch, put my workout clothes on & headed out to the gym, and while on the cross trainer I read up more on the TYP and started to set my goals for the 8 weeks. 

My goals for this challenge
  • get back to my pre pregnancy weight & shape (or to at least be on my way)
  • have clear & radiant skin
  • maintain a positive attitude & clear mind when things become overwhelming

How I plan to achieve these goals
  • create an exercise plan
  • use mantra's and affirmations
  • make time to plan meals & shopping list for the week
  • try organic skin care products
  • 15-30 mins to myself each day to review my goals and progress, as well as having some 'down time'
  • share my progress on the blog

I'm so excited to be starting this, Week One starts today!! (Although I have already been walking, doing yoga & getting on the cross trainer for the last few days)
